Auditions & Workshops Coming Soon...
25 July 2010, 10:33pm
Eight Count is gearing up for another exciting season with auditions lined up for mid-September. We are looking for committed people with strong desire to serve God in an outreach ministry centered around dancing and performing. If this sounds like you or anyone you know please help us spread the word!

Expect to see workshops starting in mid-August and continue leading up to auditions in mid-September. Workshops are a great way to meet us, see what we are all about, and learn a short routine from our lead choreographers. If you are planning on auditions, attendance to workshops is encouraged!

Eight Count in Kenya!!
25 July 2010, 10:31pm
Eight Count is sending 5 of our current members - Grace, Janette, Joseph, Tim, and Sharon - on a mission trip to Kenya. In a team of 11, we will be partnering with the Deliverance Church in Kawawa Sukari to host Vacation Bible School with the many orphaned children of the area. As well, we as Eight Count have a special mission while there, which is to use dance as a means of breaking down cultural barriers and reaching out to the children in the Mathare slums and in a rural village called Murang'a. We want these children to know that they are loved, even by strangers like us, and that they are special. We plan on teaching dance workshops and putting together dance routines for the kids to learn.

We are only a few days away from departure, and all of us are very excited, yet anxious. We continue to ask for your prayers in the following:

  • Safety and health of the team.
  • Spiritual preparation.
  • Meeting the financial expenses of the trip.
In addition to prayers, if you feel led to help contribute financially to the mission, we would greatly appreciate any amount that will be split amongst us five. The date for contributions have been extended for another month!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of us, or click here for a detailed letter about our purpose and how we will be serving Kenya.

Grace is also keeping a blog (gracetokenya.blogspot.com), so feel free to read up on updates about our team!

Eight Count Team Kenya thanks you for your love and support!

AADP's Hip Hop 4 Hope Dance Competition
24 April 2010, 7:33pm

Eight Count will be competing at Asian American Donor Program's (AADP) first ever Hip Hop 4 Hope Dance Competition (HH4H). It will be our first dance competition - an entirely new experience! Please come out and support the team and the cause.

From the AADP website: "There are many amongst us whose lives have been deeply affected by blood cancers like leukemia or lymphoma. AADP strives to help save lives and give hope to many such patients and patient families in need of a donor match by raising awareness and registering more individuals of different ethnic backgrounds into the national bone marrow registry... Through HH4H, we hope to use dance as a medium to communicate to dance crews the need for more multi-ethnic donors on the Registry."
